Exciting Winning! When Auburn University defeated Wisconsin on the road, it became the first such win…

On Friday night at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, the Auburn University men’s tennis team defeated Wisconsin 5-2 while playing on the road. The Tigers won four singles matches and the match after dropping the doubles point.

With the victory, Auburn’s record rose to 4-1, while Wisconsin’s record stays winless at 0-7 for the season. The Tigers will now play Notre Dame on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT in South Bend, Indiana.Because Wisconsin didn’t have enough players available to fill all three courts, they forfeited court three by walkover, giving Auburn an early lead in the doubles point. Raul Dobai and Finn Murgett, the top Tiger doubles combo, got the match underway with a commanding 3-1 lead. Michael Minasyan and Matthew Fullerton battled back to draw the game at three and win it 6–4.

Billy Blaydes and Will Nolan came back to force a tiebreaker during the match on court two after trailing 5-3 at one point, but they lost the tiebreaker, giving the Badgers the doubles point.

Once again, the Tigers took the lead early in the singles match. A walkover victory on court six knotted the score at one all before the first serve was ever made. In the first set, Dobai, Tyler Stice, and Alejandro Moreno all prevailed, setting Auburn up for an easy victory. As the first player to finish, Dobai defeated Tomas Zlatohlavek 6-2, 6-1 to secure his 12th career singles victory and put Auburn ahead. In his second set, which ended with a tie at three on the first court, Stice overcame Minasyan to win in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, moving the Tigers closer to victory.

While Moreno dropped the second set, Murgett and Blaydes won their respective matches in a one-sided fashion to send them into a third set. Blaydes trailed 2-1 early in his third set, but he rallied to square the match at three and never looked back. With his 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 triumph, he maintained his perfect record in doubles singles matches this spring at 4-0 and ensured the Tigers’ championship.s, Bobby Reynoldthe coach of Auburn, stated following the victory: “It’s fantastic to find a way and win even when we’re not playing our best tennis.” The players dug deep, made an effort to escape, and eventually provided themselves the opportunity to end games. We must use our doubles more aggressively and prevent our opponents from controlling the net.”Men’s doubles:
