Breaking News: CFL Adjusts Date for Preseason Matchup Between Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts…

The CFL has revised its schedule, consolidating its last four preseason games to take place on the same day, affecting the anticipated Battle of Ontario.

Originally set for Saturday, June 1st at 1:00 p.m. EDT, the preseason game between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts has been rescheduled to Friday, May 31st at 7:00 p.m. EDT.

This alteration also impacts the matchup between the Montreal Alouettes and Ottawa Redblacks, initially slated for the same date at 7:30 p.m. EDT, which has now been moved up to 7:00 p.m. EDT. The league cited the intention to create a “Friday night football frenzy” featuring dual doubleheaders. The other two games scheduled for that evening include the Calgary Stampeders versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 8:30 p.m. EDT, and the Edmonton Elks taking on the B.C. Lions at 10:00 p.m. EDT.

The exact number of preseason games to be televised on TSN remains uncertain.

The CFL’s regular season is set to commence on Thursday, June 6th, with the Montreal Alouettes facing off against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in a rematch of the 110th Grey Cup.
