Breaking: Arthur Blank gave a strong and influential recommendation for Dan Quinn to join the Commanders

The Falcons are transitioning into a new era with Raheem Morris at the helm, but some familiar faces from the team’s past are still making waves in the NFL. Matt Ryan, the former Falcons quarterback, has transitioned to the television side of the game, spending the season as a broadcaster with CBS. He has been actively involved in various NFL events since the season ended, and he is already showing promise in his new role.

Meanwhile, Dan Quinn, the former head coach of the Falcons, has taken on a new challenge as the head coach of the Commanders under new owner Josh Harris. Quinn received endorsements from various sources, including Atlanta’s owner, Arthur Blank, which speaks to the respect and admiration he still commands in the league.

During his tenure with the Falcons, Quinn led the team to an 8-8 record in his first season and an impressive 11-5 finish in the following season, winning the NFC South and securing several postseason victories en route to the Super Bowl. Despite a heartbreaking loss in the championship game, Ryan was named MVP, and the offense set numerous records during their magical run. The following season, the Falcons posted a 10-6 record but were eliminated in the NFC division round.

Unfortunately, the team’s success was short-lived, as they failed to make the playoffs in the subsequent seasons, finishing with 7-9 records in each of the next two years. Quinn was ultimately fired after a disappointing 0–5 start to the 2020 campaign.

Arthur Blank’s continued support for both Matt Ryan and Dan Quinn is evident in his endorsement of Quinn’s new coaching role. This suggests that Blank maintains a close relationship with both individuals, despite their departure from the Falcons organization.
