Breaking: ‘Pull the ripcord’: Horner verdict nears amid F1 icon’s ‘absurd’ Red Bull shock

Red Bull Racing, the Formula One team, is expected to make a decision regarding the future of Christian Horner, its team principal, within the next 48 hours. This decision comes after an internal investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior made by a female colleague. The investigation, which lasted three weeks and involved an interview with Horner, was conducted by a specialist barrister. However, it is unclear whether the full report will be made public, as it was an internal investigation rather than a legal hearing.

Horner, who has been with Red Bull Racing since 2005, has won 13 titles with the team, including six constructors’ and seven drivers’ titles. If he were to step down, Red Bull Racing would need to find a replacement to lead their defense of the two titles they won in 2023. F1 insiders have suggested that the investigation has already damaged the team’s reputation.

Horner has denied the allegations and has fully cooperated with the investigation, which is being handled by Red Bull Racing’s headquarters in Austria. The team has not provided a timeline for the announcement of the decision.

Despite the ongoing investigation, the team has maintained that it is “business as usual” at their headquarters in Milton Keynes. Horner was present at F1 testing in Bahrain last week and has expressed his expectation of being in control for the upcoming race, also in Bahrain.

The investigation has attracted attention from other teams in Formula One, with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff calling it “an issue for all of Formula One” and McLaren calling for a “swift” and “transparent” conclusion.
