Breaking: Here are the new, offseason additions to the 2024 White Sox…

 

Here are the fresh faces joining the 2024 White Sox roster, as reported by NBC Sports Chicago. The team has undergone significant changes, particularly following last season’s trade deadline, which saw the departure of key players such as Lucas Giolito, Lance Lynn, and others.

One notable addition is Prelander Berroa, a 23-year-old pitcher who made his MLB debut with the Mariners in 2023. Berroa, originally part of the Twins’ farm system, was acquired by the White Sox in exchange for Gregory Santos.

Another newcomer is John Brebbia, a 30-year-old pitcher who joined the White Sox as a free agent in January 2024. Brebbia previously played for the Giants and the Cardinals, making 10 starts and appearing in 40 games last season.

Michael Soroka, a 26-year-old starting pitcher, brings his talents to the White Sox after playing for the Atlanta Braves. Soroka, a former first-round draft pick, has faced injury setbacks but remains a promising addition to the team’s pitching rotation.

Erick Fedde, 31, signed with the White Sox in December as a free agent. Fedde, a seasoned starting pitcher, spent six seasons with the Nationals before joining the White Sox.

Chris Flexen, 29, also signed with the White Sox as a free agent. Flexen has six years of MLB experience, playing for multiple teams including the Mets and the Mariners.

Jared Shuster, a 25-year-old pitcher, made his MLB debut with the Braves last season. Shuster, who played three seasons in the minors before being called up, brings depth to the White Sox pitching staff.

Veteran pitcher Tim Hill, 34, signed with the White Sox in December. Hill has previously played for the Padres and the Royals, primarily as a relief pitcher.

Martin Maldonado, a 37-year-old catcher known for his defensive prowess, joins the White Sox after playing for multiple teams over his 13-year MLB career.

Max Stassi, a 32-year-old catcher, was acquired by the White Sox in a trade with the Braves. Stassi, who began his career with the Astros, brings experience and depth to the team’s catching position.

Nicky Lopez, a 28-year-old Naperville native, joined the White Sox from the Royals during the offseason. Lopez is expected to serve as the team’s everyday second baseman.

Paul DeJong, a 30-year-old shortstop, signed with the White Sox in November. DeJong, an Illinois native, brings power and defensive skill to the team’s infield.

Lastly, Dominic Fletcher, a 26-year-old outfielder, was acquired by the White Sox in a trade with the Diamondbacks. Fletcher, who played his first MLB season with the Diamondbacks last year, adds versatility to the team’s outfield lineup.
