Breaking: Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner to Attend Car Launch Amidst Investigation

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is set to make his first public appearance since a complaint of inappropriate behavior was filed against him. The 50-year-old is under investigation by Red Bull but is expected to attend the launch of the team’s new Formula One car. Horner was interviewed by an independent lawyer on Friday regarding claims about his conduct toward a female employee. He has denied the allegations. Red Bull has stated that they take the allegations “extremely seriously” but have opted not to comment further until the investigation is complete. Horner has not been suspended from his role as F1 team principal and CEO, so he remains free to carry out his duties as usual. Red Bull is scheduled to launch their RB20 car for the upcoming campaign at their Milton Keynes factory today, with Horner expected to be present. Horner may choose to speak for the first time since the allegations were made, but it is unlikely that he will be able to go into any detail on the situation. Drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have been hoping to hold the focus on the new F1 campaign and the new car. Bahrain will host F1 pre-season testing from February 21 to 23, before staging the first race of the campaign on March 2. Horner has led Red Bull since the team took to the grid in 2005. He oversaw their record 2023 campaign, in which Red Bull won 21 of 22 races and Verstappen swept to his third world title. Appointed an OBE in 2013, Horner was awarded a CBE on the New Year’s honors list. The investigation into Horner’s conduct came to light on February 5. The complaint relates to an allegation of inappropriate behavior of a controlling nature. Red Bull has not set a timeframe for the completion of the investigation. “After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation,” Red Bull said in a statement on February 5. “It will be completed as soon as practically possible.”
