Breaking: LeBron James doesn’t care about reaching Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan in titles

LeBron James, a four-time NBA champion, has been to the NBA Finals 10 times in his career, surpassing the total appearances of both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. However, Bryant won five NBA titles with the Lakers, and Jordan won six with the Chicago Bulls, including two three-peats.

James, a 20-time All-Star, has achieved feats in his career that neither Bryant nor Jordan accomplished, such as becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record during the 2022–23 season.

While James has the opportunity to match or surpass Bryant and Jordan in NBA titles, he is not solely focused on that aspect of his career, according to Lowe. The Lakers came close to reaching the NBA Finals in the 2022–23 season but fell short against the Denver Nuggets. If James wins another title with the Lakers, it would be his second with the franchise.

James has won titles with three different franchises: the Miami Heat (twice), the Cleveland Cavaliers (once), and the Lakers (once). He also had an eight-season run where he made the Finals every year, a feat neither Jordan nor Bryant achieved in their NBA careers.

Adding another title to his impressive resume would further solidify James’ legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. At 39 years old, he is still playing at a high level, averaging 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game while shooting 52.0 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from 3-point range.

The Lakers currently hold the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference at the All-Star break, but they have won three straight games and seven of their last 10 matchups. James demonstrated last season that he can lead the team on a deep playoff run, even if they end up in the play-in tournament.

It remains to be seen if James can lead the Lakers back to the top of the NBA and secure another title in his illustrious career.
